New Project- Gifts to Graduates

Well, our beloved Friends. We begin our new project, Gifts to Graduates.

For those who doesn't know.Annually, between 10,000 – 15,000 orphaned children leave orphanages at the age of 15-16 years old. They as baby birds are still not ready to fly, them still it is necessary to feed and look after them. But that is our law. Still not ready to life, they shall spread wings and fly. Where? What direction? To whom? Nobody knows. As a result. Many of them stay simply on the street. Our government has no one program which could help to become on feet to these, still absolutely unprepared children. To trace everyone, who and where, to help as socially and physically or financially. They stay out of an orphanage absolutely one. Without any help, in fear and in horror, suffering abandonment and homelessness. Where to go and what to do???
Life in an orphanage has left them completely unprepared to manage simple tasks of life - or make good choices about relationships, whom to trust, or how to spend their time. No guidance and no accountability.

Statistical data shows that only one of ten Ukrainian orphans becomes a functional member of a society. Others are lost to crime, suicide, unemployment, homelessness, abusing drugs, prostitution and a victim of formation of human trade. These only are few from results.

I will give to you some examples that occurred recently in our ministry.

Recently, once at night an orphaned girl stayed on the street, was very cold. The majority of you knows how cold there was this winter in Ukraine. Imagine, one on the street, without things, without documents.  took her to my home. When she ate, was noticeable that she didn't eat very long, she simply swallowed of food not the chewed. It was a plaintive and heartbreaking view. We gave her everything that she could eat, be warmed and live some time. She graduated an orphanage a few years ago. The dormitory where she lived before, simply kicked out her on the street. She lives everywhere where she can...

This girl told me about the schoolmates and about their awful life. In total what they worry and how they live, it is simply awful. Simply there are no words. Statistics proves to be true. Alcohol, poorness and poverty, unemployment, prison, the illegitimate given birth children and there is a lot of another...

Next.An one guy few months ago returned from prison. He is very dear and also special to ours hearts. He doesn't know and never saw the father. Somewhere about 6 years ago his mother was killed, she abused alcohol. We did everything that could, but life and circumstances not in our power. The his sister and he stayed orphans. As a result an orphanage, a shelter, escapes etc.As the result, he got to prison. Relatives took away an apartment where he lived before and he stayed simply on the street when came back from prison.

Next story. My sister Oksana met the girlfriend and the schoolmate recently. They didn't see each other many years. She told that when Oksana came back home from an orphanage, her girlfriend very much worried about her and often cried. Because Oksana was her single and the best girlfriend. Shortly her mother took away from the orphanage and very quickly died. As mother was married for the stepfather (not the native father), he again married but on other woman. Eventually girlfriend Oksana was even more unfortunate. Life among these people was simply a nightmare. At the age of 16-17 years she studied in one of educational institutions. She had no clothes, she wore a tatter. She hadn't what to eat, she ate scraps or what will find on the street. She had NO ONE person who could help her though something. She simply aimlessly wandered down the street. She was homeless, is defenseless, lived in fear and horror.

These are only few stories.I can tell MANY similar stories about awful life of these left children...

But for now Dear our Friends, we need your help.We need to raise fund $1820 for one month. We want to bless 80 graduates of orphanages with gifts, by kitchen utensils and a blanket. For each person it`s $22.75.
We know that it is only a little that can help them after they will leave an orphanage. But we hope with the God`s help to help to these children at least this particle of kindness.

But we haven't enough time! Only a MONTH! All of you know that this year, will be Euro2012 in Ukraine in the summer. There is an instruction that all educational institutions would be closed, that all passed examinations and finished operations till summer. Therefore the Last Bell ceremony at orphanages will be not at the end of the month May, as usual. But in the middle of May. Directors of orphanages let to us know that we would arrive at the beginning of the month of May to graduates with the program. Because then there will be very intense time for them.

Some of you shall remember as unbelievably God blessed our fund-raising, with gifts, all our journeys and how many was joyfulness and the blessed moments.
So, we have only month to raise funds.Time is VERY short! Can we do that? Can we show to these children God`s care and His love?

If the Lord gives you a wish to donate. Please use chip-in on our blog.Thank you SO much!

We really need your help getting the word out!

Other ways to help:
  • Please, pray.Pray God will do a miracle to raise all we need to help these kids who stay on street soon.
  • Please, share this information with other your friends, church members, family members, on your job, etc.
  • Please, share this information on social network,on your blogs, by e-mail, everywhere you can.
Every little bit of help is VERY appreciating!Thank you So much sweet friends for any even a little bit your help!May the Lord bless you!

Exciting day

What an exciting day we had yesterday! We are so rejoicing and praise the Lord Jesus!
We had special meeting in Kiev with already special friends. :)
I will tell to you little. But first would like to tell you before the meeting by the way to Kiev we could visit several orphans at hospital. They are sick by bronchitis. :(

Ukrainian ambulance

We had Bible lesson last Saturday at an orphanage where  from are these sweet kiddies.I will tell you and will post pictures later about lesson. So,some kids were sick and they coughed much, some could not be on Bible lesson and several of them are in hospital. We decided to visit those who are at hospital.

When we came in to their ward or hospital room, we were shocked.Because there are nothing except several empty bed tables and beds. The bed`s clothes are such yellow and wear from reusable and washings that looks awfully and is already unsuitable for use. There are nothing for kiddies to play, games, toys, books or anything that help them to be busy while they there. On walls is nothing hanging, only dyed by paint many years ago and it is need to renew already.

Hmm.I thought or a person can quickly recover, being in this hospital room only looking all the day at these walls and lying in awful bed`s clothes?Only being there and seeing this condition of hospital room you can get sick more... :(
Awful not because medical staff or workers do nothing for a condition of hospital room. Because the hospital has no enough finances that care about of patients and to help them to recover quickly.

So, when we went into the room oh how kids were happy and surprised!Oh, how they were excited much!

God has blessed and we could bring special gift to them fruits, bun and drinking yoghurt. As orphans never ate yoghurt they asked what is that? You may inquire that these kiddies never ate yoghurt?Yes, it truth, they NEVER ate it!And they were amazed and soooo happy to get it, thanks God!

We praise God He sent us blessing gift in time and we could to bless these poor children!

Some orphans are sick in orphanages. It is cold here and children catch cold. Please, will you pray for their health and quickly recovering?Thank you!

After spending time and prayer with these precious we went to have another meeting.

Well, we have a family who was a huge blessing in our ministry, who blessed many times poor orphans here. Now they adopt 2 nice girls with Down syndrome. We knew they will go to Ukraine and we wanted to give our special personal thanks and give them our hugs. What an amazing, sweet and lovely is family Kimble! What a blessed family with such sweet God`s spirit!

Please, follow their blog, in their journey of adopting.Support them by your prayers, encouragements and even donations, as they need.

What a blessing to know those people who chose God`s way, obeying him and follow Christ. What a blessing we had speaking about orphans, christianity and many other. We had such blessed and amazing day!Even God sent us nice and sunny weather at this day.Now here it is cloudy, windy and cold.

We were able to share a meal together, traditional Ukrainina food. :)What an amazing gift of Christian fellowship God blessed us! We had such sweet and peaceful feeling of being with them.It seemed as we knew them for a long time. :)

With big gratefulness in my heart I would love to thank you for all of your prayers for my health and support you gave me!
As  13 years ago God has saved me from hell and called me to be pastor of Church and director of Orphan Ministry.Really I`m very happy by that ministries and to praise God daily Who has changed my life forever! When many years ago I was in jail lying on concrete`s bed dying from tuberculosis.I was about 99 pounds of my weight, I had only bones and skin. And staff of prison did not give me a chance to live saw me give up as a bad job. They spelt the death and has put an end on me.But not alive God!!! He has saved me and healed me completely that I can preach the Gospel today and lead folks to Jesus!Praise the Lord! It is real miracle in my life and I praise the Lord!

Today God  sent tests to me problems with health. But trials in our life make our faith strong as stone and hot as fire.Even it is heavy for me with physical aches sometimes that I can not sleep at nights, I praise God He gives me peace in my heart and faith that He will heal me same as many years ago by his mercy and your prayers.

I was amazed to receive your support and help a gift of love for medicine I needed!Because I needed big sum I was not able to begin my treatment. But God says in His word: "Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?" Jeremiah 32:27
I`m very grateful to all your support and prayers! Also I`m very thankful for your e-mails and encouragements!

"But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus(you all) the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Phillipians 4:18-19)

I`m very thankful for your Christian love and care you show us in your daily prayers and support our ministry!
It give us a desire to serve the Lord more and with more strength! It give occasion of being ardently dedicated and loyal.Thank you so much to be light of Jesus and alive Church of Christ!

I would be very thankful if you continue to pray for my health.Because of aches I can not sleep at nights. If I do not sleep several nights one after another, it is very heavy to serve the Lord and do any work and it brings other problems with health.Thank you!God bless you!

Yours in Christ,
brother Misha

The story of love

The next day Friday as I said before, we could to visit next orphanage. And we had with orphans as usual Bible lesson.
When we just have arrived to the orphanage, kids who have saw us through windows started to knock on window that we have seen them and they waved hands.Ah!It was such sweet moment. They so were excited when they noticed that we have seen them!
When we came into a class to other kids with whom we have regular lessons, they all of them as birds have started to fly to us.They have been surprised and so happy to see us!They huged us and have been excited! It was sooo sweet! :)

At this time we told them a story of love, about Ruth. How she loved her mother in law that she left her motherland and went unto the land of Judah together with her. Also we learned character of Ruth about her love to Naomi, her loyalty to mother in law, that she was hardworking, kind, coy and lowly. Ruth was a woman of wholehearted devotion. Also this story teaches us great lesson of selflessness, and strength in times of hardship. And I love this story much! :)

After prayer as well we have thought back last Bible lesson we had. After that we were going to have object lesson before Bible story with vegetable oil, salt and water. But we have found that all vegetable oil had spilled out in a bag.Oops! :) It has turned over itself somewhere on a way. So we did not have object lesson.

After Bible story of Ruth, we could play game " Gleaning  Wheat". Each student answered a question from the lesson.  If they gave the answer correct they have taken basket and gleaned in the "Field of Boaz." They had right to pick up only 3 spikelets. We had enough. Our classroom floor served as Boaz's field. The kiddos loved playing this game. They love getting out of their chairs and learning  by playing.

The next we have learned Bible verse and learning it by playing. We named this game, "Help Ruth pick up spikelets". We took 6 kids who did not play yet and had divided them by two groups.

We have placed downwards spikelets in a floor for 2 commands. They should find words of a verse of the Bible between many spikelets.

After that they should to place it in hands of Ruth.
They did it real fast!As everyone wanted to win!
Kids liked this game!It was real fun to find words of verse between different spikelets!

We learned verse  "My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth." 1John 3:18
Ruth showed her loyalty and love to her mother in law.We think it is good verse to memorise for kiddies. That we will love not only words but deed too.

Also we memorised words of Ruth by song with children she told to Naomi, several times.
Wherever you go, I will go.
Wherever you dwell, I will dwell.
Your people, my people,
Your God, my God!     I LOVE soooo much words of Ruth!!!

Children amazed us! When we asked them before what Ruth told to her mother in law when she said to her daughters in law return to their mother`s house. They said correct words! It was such blessing to hear it and we were impressed!

Ok.This sweet boy had Birthday, yes, we had only one birthday child at this time. And we congratulated him.He  loved so much his kitten that Taras told us, he will be asleep with his toy.He liked his small gift!

In the end as well they made craft, paper doll of Ruth. They love very much to color something. So, they excited by doing this craft! The arm of Ruth is attached with a brad so that it can move. They loved it soooo much!
We had nice and great time with kiddies! We were so blessed to be with them!We praise the Lord the each moment to be with them and bring Gospel! We enjoyed to tell them a great story of love!Hope these seeds of God`s word will bring  yield fruit of Holy Spirit in some time.

Are not beautiful these two little nice girls?
They have put on Ukrainian tradition costume and headwear. They could not be with us on Bible lesson because they had practise at this time of some songs etc. They could resort only some times on several minutes to see that occurs and came back back.
At this day in a city where is this orphanage was purty or social gathering, the same as Ukrainian people have made this hundreds year ago. This day is elaborate and can be  humorous and poetic. Also folks like to sing different Ukrainian folk songs a lot.
Ukrainian culture has a highly developed tradition of oral literature. Folktales, folk songs, folk drama, proverbs, riddles, and numerous other genres. Ukrainian people have liked to do all these things during purty or social gathering, which has named as "vechornici". Vechornici has name because of word vechir, what means by -evening.Because in the evenings when all work have finished, people liked to gather in the evenings and to spend time. But this is only culture and tradition which was in past :)
